Students at a Chinese high school gave new meaning to the practice of 'hot desking' during a heat wave this week… and sat their exams in a forest。
本周在高溫來(lái)襲時(shí)，一所中國(guó)高中的學(xué)生們給“hot desking”一詞賦予了新的解釋?zhuān)蔷褪窃跇?shù)林里進(jìn)行考試。(hot desking原意為“辦公桌輪用制”，大家不斷輪流用一張辦公桌，那這桌子豈不是一直保持著溫度，所以英語(yǔ)里叫做hot desking。)
Teachers at the school, in Jinzhou city in Hubei province, were worried their pupils might overheat during their end-of-term tests so they moved all tables and chairs outside. And not only did it allow the students to take their exams with a cool breeze on their backs but also made it harder to cheat, headmaster Luk Chien claimed。
湖北荊州一所學(xué)校的老師們擔(dān)心學(xué)生在期末考試時(shí)氣溫過(guò)高，所以把所有的桌子和椅子都搬出了教室。校長(zhǎng)錢(qián)露克(Luk Chien音譯)聲稱(chēng)，一來(lái)學(xué)生在考試的時(shí)候可以享受下后背吹來(lái)的涼風(fēng)習(xí)習(xí)，二來(lái)又可以避免作弊。
The 56-year-old declared: 'Nature has blessed us with beautiful weather - I suggest we show our appreciation for it by going outside to enjoy the sunshine which will have a nourishing effect on both bodies and minds!'
這位56歲的校長(zhǎng)宣稱(chēng)：“大自然恩賜給我們美好的天氣。我建議我們用享受戶(hù)外陽(yáng)光的方式來(lái)感激它，讓自然滋養(yǎng)我們的靈魂和身體!
'It is easier in an enclosed and crowded space for students who are tempted to be untruthful to copy or crib the answers from their friends. Outside we were able to space the desks much more widely apart and had a better overview.'
在封閉和擁擠的空間里，學(xué)生更容易變得不誠(chéng)實(shí)，去抄襲或者剽竊他們朋友的考卷答案。而在戶(hù)外，我們能把課桌距離分得更開(kāi)，也能更好地監(jiān)考。”
'There is fresh air outdoors and the weather is fine in this season. Taking exams outdoors can also help the students feel healthier.'
“戶(hù)外空氣新鮮，當(dāng)季的天氣也不錯(cuò)。在戶(hù)外考試也讓學(xué)生感覺(jué)更加健康。”
It went down well with students like Chen Fang, who said: 'I love this. In the past, we took the exams in a similar way, but we were just asked to move chairs outdoors to take the exams. 'It's quite uncomfortable to just sit on a chair and take an exam, but now we have moved the desks outdoors. It has become quite comfortable now.'
有些學(xué)生認(rèn)為這樣的考試形式不錯(cuò)，陳芳就是其中之一，她說(shuō)：“我很喜歡這種方式。以前我們也參加過(guò)類(lèi)似形式的考試，但是只是讓我們把椅子搬到室外去。那樣坐在椅子上考試很不舒服，但是現(xiàn)在我們可以把課桌也搬出去了，挺舒服的。”
